TELL ME I AM HERE

2019

Photography/Video by Bom Noh

This photography/video installation delves into the irony of trees' omnipresence yet invisibility in our daily lives. While trees are abundant and essential, they often blend into the background, unnoticed.

The project captures trees in various settings, bringing them into sharp focus against the backdrop of everyday life. The intention is to highlight the beauty and importance of trees, countering their usual neglect.

The photographs are hidden and placed in exhibition sight within the exhibition space. This reflects the paradox that, despite their abundance, trees often go unseen, much like the photographs that require deliberate attention to be noticed. These strategically placed images — under windowsills, behind pillars, integrated within other artworks — are concealed and integrated into the environment that they risk being overlooked.

This element of the exhibition underscores the message: trees, although ever-present, are frequently ignored, mirroring the need for a more conscious appreciation and preservation of these vital natural elements in our environment.
